Dorchester Town Football Club Academy

Plans for Dorchester Town FC Academy remain in full swing, however for the coming season due to so much interest from players from outside of our proposed SCL Education programme, we have agreed with SCL that we will kick off with a full education programme at the start of 2020/21 season.

So what does this mean for the coming season?

Dorchester Town FC Academy are offering all 16 to 18-year-olds who are in a full-time education programme the opportunity to play in The National League U19 Alliance League and The FA Youth Cup this season.

The league is the highest level of academy football you can play before joining a full-time football league academy. We are looking at forging a pathway for local players from grassroots youth football through to our first team, and this league gives us as a club the opportunity to develop the skill set of players to the level required to represent the first team.

Players will be continuing their studies at school or college, and the club are already contacting all local education providers to ensure players can be released for matches. It is also highly likely that players will be allowed to continue to play for other teams should those fixtures be at the weekends.

When and where will matches be played?

The new Dorchester Town FC Academy U19 side will play league matches on Wednesday afternoons with a kick-off at 2pm, while FA Youth Cup fixtures will take place on a weeknight with a kick-off at 7:45pm.

Home fixtures will take place on our 3G pitch at The Clayson Stadium, where the team will also train during some evenings of the week (days to be confirmed).
